Thursday Three - My Friends Call me Laura

Here are three reasons I could have been a character
in the book Little House on the Prairie

1. I know how to make and can homemade applesauce. It was much easier than I thought.
2. I picked fresh raspberries yesterday in the mud and rain (and they were good!)
3. I survived power outage number two in our apartment (if there is one more outage I will feel like I am actually living in the book little house on the prairie).

Blake did two of the three things with me, but he still has some skills to learn.
I had a cute picture to add, but it is in my car. Maybe tomorrow.

While sitting at home tonight watching TV alone, I decided I need more music. I got a little homesick for Saturday mornings with my dad's music. Or for little Mere's dance parties that could come at a moments notice. I don't have moves like my brother Patrick or Paige's free spirit to dance like nobody's watching (that's right, I said it). Even my mom can shake it when the moment is right (and quite well I might add). I can't just let myself go like everyone else in my family, but I do love a good song so....

What are you listening to? iTunes is waiting to take my 99 cents and I am ready to give it to them.

3 Questions to which I don't think I will ever find out the answer.

1. Why is it that more often than not, the cart I choose at the store has broken straps for Blake, but I don't realize until after I have my bag and Blake in place? So annoying!
2. Why does Blake act like he is not hungry and won't eat anything I give him while he is in his high chair, but as soon as I sit down for dinner, he is at my feet begging for a bite as if he is starving?
3. Why do I always forget one item at the grocery store that I really need, but don't realize until the next day and then I have to go back to the store? (see number one to see why this is even more annoying!)

What questions do you have?

"Oh, a pirate baby!"
(to quote the lady at the bus stop this morning)

That's right everyone. The truth is out. I have a pirate baby. Blake and I try to do our workouts outside in the mornings before it is too cold to be outside (which I hear is coming quickly). Blake sports the do-rag each moring to keep his head warm since he still has very little hair. I couldn't find his sweet blue camo bandana (you're welcome Mere) this morning, but red did the trick all the same.

I am getting cold feet

My birthday has come and gone but not without a fun celebration! The biggest event of the day was actually making it to costco (with only one small detour). Please click here to check out my cute gift from Matt to keep my feet warm on our hardwood floors. I'll be whipping up fancy meals (in under 3o minutes) with these (thanks mom and dad). Add flowers, a manicure and some chocolate cake and it was a perfect birthday.

Until next year, Happy Birthday to me!

Friday, September 7, 2007

I just wanted to go to Costco.

But because of weather and a few wrong turns, 55.6 miles later I am home again with a hungry, tired baby and no 60 gallon bottle of anything to show for my trip. I was WAY lost.

Do you ever feel like this?

Yesterday, I did.

3 Reasons I love my birthday

1. I get my own cake. Matt was disappointed that I didn't pick my traditional carrot cake, but this year I want chocolate cake with chocolate frosting.

2. All the people I love call me, email me, or send me cards. I love it.

3. The best part this year about my birthday is that it is only 2 days away. We are planning a trip to the park, cougar football, and maybe even a nap. I am excited to celebrate with Matt and Blake.
