Dancing Queen

Here are some things about our recent trip to Charlotte, NC.
1. We don't say "hate" or "oh my gosh." Apparently I say those words a lot, but my nieces kept me in check.

2. My nieces use the word wet as a noun. "I need to do a wet" or "i just did a wet and need a wiper" For some reason it always makes me laugh. In case you were wondering, Uncle Matt was the wiper of choice while we were there. He is so lucky.

3. They are having a water shortage in Charlotte and while it is not required, it was recommended (from the city) to not flush the toilet when just taking a wet. I was told that it didn't apply to guests.

4. There is no limit to how much Abba you can listen to in a day.

5. Funny quote from Berks, "I don't want to see nobody naked."

We had a great time with Pat and Mer. Thanks for a fun spring break!!

don't forget-- we also don't say "stupid"!

i can't believe you didn't mention our fabulous mall and all the shopping bags from Tiffany's, Burberry, and Coach you came home with!

You better have come back with some bags for me!

We don't say stupid at our house either. But in reality, we aren't great about inforcing that rule!! It came after Tyson was trying to use a toy and it wasn't working right and then said "stupid piece of crap". yeah, wonder who he picked that up from.

Looks like a great trip. Wish I could have been there.

Oh man, we were so close yet so far away.:) Luckily we don't have the same "flush rule" as in Charlotte, but Chapel Hill may get there yet. There's always room for hope I guess. :) Looks like you guys had a fun time playing outside. It's a perk of living in NC during the winter.

No flushing after wets? WOW. Have we gone back a century?

Do they have a name for the 'other' bathroom duty? Dry perhaps? It sounds like you guys had fun.

Pretty sure those pictures look like they're taken in 90 degree weather ... at least compared to Michigan.

We try not to say "oh my gosh" in our house too, but I have to admit it's mostly because Kody can't say the "sh" sound. Hey, Survivor looks great for tomorrow, too bad we can't watch it together!

Looks like a very fun trip. I'm sure you loved the not flushing thing and are implementing it at your house just for fun. Blake looks so much older in those shots. He really does look a lot like you. Are you ready for spring?

we are bad people, because not only do allyson and i use those words, so does our three year old evie. i laughed so hard at this post, i almost had a wet myself.

if it's yellow, let it mellow.

That may make you think twice next time a mellow yellow sounds refreshing.

The girls leave an occasional hud every now and then, but it makes me think about Rob & Big's log in the pool, which was a classic episode.

Those are things that you pick up when your kids get a bit older and you want to make sure they don't misuse words that aren't very becoming of little children. I don't allow my kids to say they hate any people, but they can say they don't like them.

Glad you had a fun week.
