Garden Update

Things are going fairly well in the garden. Slugs keep eating things but I try to go out daily to pick them out and hope they have not done too much damage. We ate our first broccoli the other night. Truth be told, it was not that good. A little disappointing but I am not giving up. The weather here makes gardening a little tricky but Blake and I are enjoying watching things grow. He was so excited to pick the broccoli and couldn't wait to eat it for dinner.

way to go!! i'm impressed with your skillz. blake will have to teach me a little trick or two about gardening. however, if there are slugs involved, i'm out.

We just got home yesterday and Ryan went out to check on the garden & some of our broccoli had flowered. Ryan picked most of it and cooked it up. It was good! So much fun eating what you grow!

I just saw Paige's blog and asked this same question of her, Are you my daughter? Can't believe you are such a great gardener. Very impressive. I don't know if I am more impressed by the broccoli crop or by the fact that you are actually willing to pick out the slugs.

Impressive! I have to admit I'm a little discouraged with ours! We have white bugs on all our zucchini- all our tomatoes are rotten! It's been so flippin hot with no rain- so watering has been a chore. Our cantaloupe are looking good though. We better get something good out of all of this! Ah. Live and learn, right?!

perseverance, I like it! Way to go picking out slugs every day. That's when I would look at the garden and say "you win"!

I'm impressed! I'm not even attempting in this desert climate, that's my excuse for this location anyway :). Andy wants to know if Blake has to weed when he gets in trouble?

i'm sorry it didn't taste good because it looks fabulous! we ate some lettuce out of our garden yesterday and it was kind of bitter. it just confirms my suspicion that gardening is NOT AT ALL as easy as people make it sound like it is.

p.s. thanks again for covering for me sunday.
