Three reasons why I am so happy.
1. We got central air.
2. We got central air.
3. We got central air.
People kept telling us that we wouldn't need central air here in the pacific northwest. Those people lied. It is our third summer here and we decided it was something we definitely wanted (though I like to think of it more as need) to do. I was a little sad to get rid of our white trash window unit set up but I got over that after feeling the cool crisp air flowing out of the vents.
We did just celebrate our 7 year anniversary and the traditional gift is copper so the new a/c unit fits perfectly.

Well, that answers my question...so glad you are finally able to hang out in your own home without sweating! You are for sure the coolest...
Yay! I'm so happy for you. You know with the upgrade, you just volunteered yourself for Apartment 17 Reunion 2013...
Friends don't let friends live without a/c in the Pacific Northwest. I guess you know I am a true friend now ;)
I am happy for you! If find it ironic that the PNW is the coolest place I've lived in the past 15 years, but the only place I've lived with central air. Love it!
ps. Can I have the window unit? I don't need the air, but I think it would be great as a home decor item.
Don't you just want to stay inside all the time now?!
i'm happy you guys are staying cool. there's nothing worse than sweating in your own house. unfortunatley, i sweat in my own house even with a/c since i'm too cheap to set it at a decent temp!!
Now we will come visit you! :) After being in your apartment last summer, I would have bought you an AC unit myself! So glad you did it. :) Congrats!!
Hurrah for AC! I'm a big fan of staying cool. That's what living in a civilized country is all about. :)
Congrats Megan! I am super happy for you. Guess I'm just wondering what you think of me since I just moved up to even having a white trash window unit?
glad you were able to work that out. enjoy your sweat-free night's sleep!
I'm so glad for you. I hate being hot and sweaty (I definitely live in the wrong state). And you're right: the window unit was definitely white trash. :)
YAY for central air! We moved to a square with central A/C three weeks ago, and are loving the cool, larger place!
And DOUBLE YAY for baby #2 on the way!! I hadn't checked blogs in a while and was SO EXCITED to read your news! Congratulations 10 times over!
Yippee, Yippee!!!!
horaaay! all pregnant women need ac! hehe my house is always a sauna because even though we HAVE central air, i'm too cheap to cool down my whole house. . . maybe i should look into that white trash air unit. lol
You make me laugh!!! Loved the old setup esp the reference to being WT! I am so happy for you. Def,not good being hot and pg!
I'm so glad you are cool! I always new it though :) I can't believe you haven't had it being pregnant. We are really racking up the ac bills here in Texas right now! Wow it is hot!!
Aaaaaaahhhh! Behold the heavens have opened and you're nice and cool! I can so relate to this. Our first house we built was in Colorado and everyone told us that same thing, that we'd hardly ever need air conditioning, so we didn't put one in. Then five years later, we built our second home in Colorado, and I ignored everyone who said we wouldn't need it. I love your new unit! You are indeed cool. Too cool, in fact. :-)
